I’m thrilled to offer a year-long secret Facebook group for adoptive parents to begin on 9/1/18!
We welcome you in whatever age, whatever stage you’re in and wherever you are in your struggles.
Each developmental stage brings with its challenges, doesn’t it?
Those elementary school years are key in establishing yourself as a family, your role as parent and fostering the love and curiosity of learning.
The teen years, as we know, are… complicated, at best! Sometimes downright scary, other times, just an everyday adventure!
And, young adulthood… you might have thought your hardest years were behind you? Well, these days, young adulthood can seem like the new adolescence! And, in certain ways, it’s even more difficult because you don’t have the control, influence or information that your did in their younger years! Issues like launching, college, career, relationships, self-esteem, mental health, the list goes on. There’s still plenty to cover!
And, throughout this adventure, your relationship is so important. You want it to be stable, connected for the long haul.
Begins on 9/1/18. Programming includes monthly video informational sessions via Facebook Live and monthly Q & A sessions will occur from Sept – June. It will continue to be accessible through the summer as well.
This is not just any Facebook group. It’s concentrated and focused, specific to the issues that are important to your family. Ongoing opportunity to ask questions, learn from the experiences of others, share resources and build community.
I want you and your family to have a good year with breakthrough moments and honing in the needs of your son or daughter. It’s not necessarily easy, but a good year can make all the difference.
One-time fee of $500. Register before 9/1 and take $50 off with promo code “early.” (This group is already included in the registration for the fall ATM group.) If you participated in previous secret Facebook groups, please ask about additional discounts!
I’ve been part of the adoption community throughout my career as a psychotherapist and adoption specialist, and throughout my life as a Korean-adoptee. I’ve been facilitating groups and workshops for twenty years. I wrote “Parenting in the Eye of the Storm: The Adoptive Guide to Navigating the Teen Years” to share the information and insight that I’ve gained, not just from my own life experiences, but from hundreds of adoptees that I’ve seen over the years. Much of this, you’ll never hear from them, either because they don’t realize or understand what they’re feeling, or because they don’t want you to know. But, you need to know! I can help.
If you need more concentrated help and support and are parenting an adopted teen with mental health issues, please consider the ATM group. Or, if you would like to schedule an individual consultation via Zoom or locally, happy to do that, as well.
But, regardless of your circumstance, if you are an adoptive parent and passionate about learning and parenting, join us!
